Albion midfielder Aaron Mooy celebrates scoring his first goal for the club.

Peter Gwargis, Neal Maupay and Aaron Mooy make up the three-man shortlist for the December award — let’s see why they’ve been nominated…

Peter Gwargis vs Arsenal:

The Swedish midfielder netted his second in as many matches with a stylish strike against the Gunners, sealing a 1-0 win in Premier League 2. Gwargis had also found the back of the net seven days earlier in a 1-1 draw with Wolves, and repeated the feat with a fine finish into the corner.

Neal Maupay vs Wolves:

The French striker drew Albion with an instinctive effort against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men at the Amex Stadium, before Davy Propper fired Graham Potter’s men into the lead a minute later. It was Maupay’s second goal in as many matches after his header against Arsenal three days earlier had sealed a 2-1 win.

Aaron Mooy vs AFC Bournemouth:

The Australian netted his first goal for the club against the Cherries, as Albion rounded off 2019 with a vital win. Mooy’s finish from inside the area doubled the advantage for Graham Potter’s side after the midfielder had been found in space by a clever pass from Leandro Trossard.
