Albion last week granted another memorable Christmas Wish, this time for 11-year-old Finn Maskell, who enjoyed a coaching session with a difference from Steve Sidwell at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.

The club granted a Christmas Wish for Finn Maskell.

Finn experiences severe anxiety caused by Emetophobia (a fear of being sick) which initally caused him to fall out of love of the game, and his mum Shelley nominated him for the wish.

She said, “He’s had a really tough year, after going down with an illness back in March. It developed into something called Emetophobia, which is a fear of being sick.

“He became cocooned in his bedroom and frightened of the world. He’s not fully recovered, but has made extremely good progress.

“Having this session with Steve is a dream come true, and I cannot thank the Albion enough. He’s back where he belongs and is kicking a ball again.”

The day was topped off by an appearance from Finn’s favourite player, Lewis Dunk, who handed out an early Christmas present of a black away strip, complete with name and number 5, as well as tickets for last Sunday’s match against Wolves.

“You could see for yourself how happy he was, and he absolutely loved the session,” added Shelley. “The family are all so grateful that my little boy has been given this amazing dream.

“Lewis is definitely his favourite player and he dressed as him for Inspiration day at school. He dyed his hair and everything!”
