The Premier League leaders led 2-0 at the break, despite Albion creating some good chances, but after keeper Allison was shown a red card for deliberate handball outside the box skipper Lewis Dunk fired in the resultant free kick with ten minutes to go.
Klopp, whose side are 11 points clear at the top, was impressed with Albion’s front-foot approach.
He said: “Brighton don’t care too much about the opponent, they like to play and come at them. Graham Potter is doing an outstanding job and it will be even more tough for their opponents when they start to take their chances.
“We scored two nice goals from set-pieces and could have finished it off with some other chances, but we had to work very hard.

“They had good moments at the end of the first half and it was hard for us in the second half too. It became complicated because of the red card and bringing on a frozen goalkeeper and the free kick happened.
“But we kept on fighting, and Adrian helped us with two really good saves at the end. The important thing is that we won the game and the desire we showed."
