Graham Potter speaks to the media ahead of the game with Leicester City this weekend.

The Foxes come into the contest on the south coast in second position in the top flight and on a run of five straight wins in all competitions. The Albion boss spoke about the challenge his men will face this weekend, and discussed the league’s top goalscorer Jamie Vardy.

He said, “They’re on a good run of form and you can see there’s a real clarity to the way they play, and Brendan [Rogers] has instilled that. They have good mix of youth and experience, have Premier League winners in their squad and some really talented players.

“You can see why they’re up there in the top area of the league and they are where they are on merit. I’ve been really impressed with them. Jamie Vardy is in good form and he’s been very clinical; he’s made a career of that and is a top centre forward. He doesn’t need many chances to score, but he would tell you as well that it’s as much about the team behind you that can create those chances for him.

“We have to be mindful of that, they have players who can hurt us and we have to be collectively good and have a good basis for how we want to defend. We’re in good form at home, but you don’t get anything in football for what you’ve done in the past.

"We want to carry on what we’ve been doing at home; the relationship between the team and the home supporters is big and we want to continue that.”

Potter's Leicester press conference

Brendan Rogers’s men also boast the best defensive record in the division having conceded just eight times so far this term. Potter put that down to the organisation of the side and the way in which they put teams under pressure going the other way up the field.

“They have a good structure and are really well balanced,” he continued.

“The thing with football is if you attack well, then you’ll also do the same with regard to defending. When they attack, they drive you back, which means you perhaps don’t create many chances against them.

“They have a good team and work ethic when they don’t have the ball and their defensive record doesn’t surprise me - it’s more about how strong they are as a collective though, and about how they work.”
