Albion return to The Pilot Field tonight

Albion have traditionally played their reserves or under-23 side in this competition, and most recently won it in 2018 after beating Crawley Town 2-1 in the final.

The Seagulls exited last year's competition at the semi-final stage away to eventual winners Bognor Regis Town, who went on to defeat Burgess Hill Town at the Amex Stadium in May.

Simon Rusk's side had notched up three wins and as many clean sheets before that, with wins over Lewes, Hastings United and Eastbourne Town en route to the last four.

This will be the first match for the under-23s since they drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient in a Leasing.com Trophy encounter on 6th November, with Orient winning the penalty shootout 4-2, to claim an additional point in the group stages.

Meanwhile, Hastings head into the match on a high after recording a 3-1 Isthmian League South East win against Phoenix Sports Club on Saturday.

The winners of tonight's game will face Burgess Hill in round three.
