Today marks Rainbow Laces Day, and we at Brighton & Hove Albion want to ensure that football is a game for everyone.

The match against Wolves will be dedicated to the Rainbow Laces campaign.

With that in mind, we will be supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign at our women’s WSL game against Reading (at The People’s Pension Stadium, Crawley) on 29th  November and our men’s Premier League match at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on 8th December.

Both games will see a host of activities take place to recognise the significant place the LGBT community has in our sport.

Rose Read, head of people and culture at the club said, “We are pleased to be a part of the wider football communities’ efforts to make football accessible and welcoming to everyone. We ask that all fans support our local and wider LGBT communities in football.”

Paul Callander, finance officer, and project co-ordinator for Albion’s presence at Brighton and Hove Pride, added, “We are proud to be able to actively show the wider football community the inclusive and welcoming club that we are. Few clubs in Europe are more pro-active in welcoming all members of the LGBT community to football than Brighton & Hove Albion.”

Brighton & Hove Albion staff and supporters took to the streets of the city for Brighton and Hove Pride 2019 in August this year, and have partnered with the biggest Pride event in the UK for the past two years.

Education forms a key strand of the club’s equality work to promote inclusion for the LGBT community and eliminate all forms of discrimination.  To support this, the club has produced a unique gender identity and sexual orientation booklet that is widely available.

Tickets for the game against Wolves are still available at

The club superstore will have a host of Pride merchandise on sale in the week leading up to the match.

Please show your support for the match as we work to make football everyone's game.
