Lea Le Garrec celebrates with Kayleigh Green.

Le Garrec rifled in a 25-yard strike to make it 2-0 before assisting Kayleigh Green for Albion’s third goal, in what was a day to remember for the Frenchwoman.

She said, “We showed great attitude, and I’m very happy for everybody because we work hard every day.

“We managed to get a fantastic result, which will be great for our confidence going into the match on Wednesday against London Bees ahead of the game against Manchester United next Sunday.

“I saw my goal at half-time, and realised how good it was! You don’t have time to reflect on it during the game, so to score a goal and provide an assist for Kayleigh Green has made it a perfect day for me.”

Lea Le Garrec scored Albion's second goal.

The midfielder says she feels at home at the club following her summer switch from Guingamp, and is getting used to the physical aspects of the English game.

“I’m really enjoying my time here, and I’m getting used to the physical aspects of the game. I feel like I’m playing better all the time, and I hope it continues.

“Hope has asked me to be a box-to-box player when it comes to defending and attacking. That’s very hard, because as soon as I attack, I have to defend very quickly again.

“But I am a player that will always try to stay disciplined and always make the right passes for my teammates to win games and score goals.”
