David Jones is the executive Finance and IT Director for Brighton & Hove Albion. He joined the club in January 2012 as Head of Finance and was appointed to the Board in March 2012.
David also sits on the Brighton and Hove Albion Women’s Football Club Board and is a trustee for Albion in the Community. He has been involved in the football industry for nearly 20 years working as Finance Director at Southampton for 12 years, and also enjoyed a brief spell at Plymouth Argyle before joining Brighton.
David qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton in 1985. Since then, he worked in the quarrying and construction industry with Wimpey Hobbs before joining Secure Retirement Plc, a company involved in property development and the provision of sheltered housing. In 1997 Secure Retirement completed the takeover of Southampton, with the primary objective of building a new stadium for the club, which was duly completed in 2001.
David is married with three children, is a keen sportsman, and regularly plays badminton and golf.
