The week ahead: Leyton Orient and Man United

This week sees Albion make the short trip to east London in a bid to secure their place in the knockout stages of the Leasing.com Trophy, while Graham Potter’s side head to Old Trafford for a match against Manchester United.

Albion are back in Leasing.com Trophy action this week.

This is what’s in store for Albion teams in the coming seven days, starting with a short journey north to the capital.

Wednesday 6th November: Leyton Orient v Albion under-21s, kick-off 7.45pm

Simon Rusk’s side will be looking to secure safe passage out of the Leasing.com group stages with a match against Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.

An Albion under-21 team has won both of their games in this competition to date after 2-0 wins over AFC Wimbledon and Southend United respectively.

U21 highlights: Southend 0 Albion 2

The Seagulls overcame the Dons courtesy of Bojan Radulovic’s strike and Nikola Tzanev’s own goal, while Southend were put to the sword thanks to goals from Taylor Richards and Warren O’Hora.

Orient have one win and one defeat from their two group matches, after a 2-0 win against Southend and a 3-0 loss to Wimbledon.

Tickets will be available to purchase on the gate, priced at £7 for adults and £1 for under-18s.

Sunday 10th November: Manchester United v Albion, kick-off 2pm

Potter’s men are back on the road this Sunday when they take on Man United at Old Trafford.

Albion head into the game after winning three of their last four games, which included a 2-0 victory over Norwich City on Saturday thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard and Shane Duffy.

Extended highlights: Albion 2 Norwich 0

The Seagulls edged out Everton 3-2 a week earlier at the Amex, courtesy of Lucas Digne’s stoppage-time own goal.

United have had an inconsistent start to the season and head into the match sitting two places and two points worse off than the Seagulls, with 13 points from 11 games, leaving them tenth in the table.

The club has now sold out its allocation for this match.
