Duffy entered proceedings with 30 minutes played in an enforced substitution following Adam Webster’s injury, and the Irishman was able to mark his return with a clinical sliding finish from Leandro Trossard’s free kick seven minutes from the end.
He said, “I was delighted to get out on the pitch again, play football and help the team. I know I’m a threat from set pieces, and being able to contribute to the team was the most important thing.
“I’m the sort of a person that needs to keep going and keep my body in good shape. I haven’t had any injuries until recently, and the last one I had was disappointing. But now I just need to keep my head down, work hard and see what I can do.”
The Republic of Ireland international's introduction saw him reunited with Lewis Dunk at the heart of Albion’s defence, and Duffy believes the Seagulls skipper is continuing to improve his game.
“He was excellent again, and he has been all season. He’s gone up a level and that’s also down to the manager, who has got even more out of him. He’s been brilliant, and hopefully he can continue in that same way.
“Big Dan [Burn] and Webby [Adam Webster] have been excellent as well. I’m someone that can learn from them too, and I’ll always be ready to back the lads when I can.”

The 27-year-old spoke in more detail about Webster’s injury, and hopes the former Bristol City man can make a speedy recovery.
“We’re hoping it’s not a bad injury because we need his quality as well. He brings a lot to this team and we hope it’s not that serious.
“I’ll step up if I’m needed because we’ve got some big games coming up. We want to finish as high as possible in the league, and I’ll be ready to help out wherever I can.”
