It may be the October international break, but a number of Albion’s academy players still featured across Leagues One and Two, and in non-league football this past weekend.

Max Sanders scored his first senior goal at the weekend.

Max Sanders played the full 90 minutes and claimed an assist for AFC Wimbledon in a 4-1 win at Southend United in League One. Marcus Forss netted a hat-trick, while Sanders teed up Ryan Delaney from a corner to help secure a comprehensive victory for the Dons in Essex.

Also in League One, Robert Sanchez was on the winning side for Rochdale in their 2-1 home victory over Accrington Stanley. The Albion goalkeeper helped to weather an early storm from the visitors, keeping out Jordan Clark’s half-volley, but Ian Henderson’s brace proved to be the difference on the day, and moved Dale up to 17th in the table.

Under-23 goalkeeper Carl Rushworth made his full Worthing debut in their 2-1 win over Cheshunt in the Isthmian Premier Division. Goals from Lloyd Dawes and Jesse Starkey gave the Rebels all three points in Hertfordshire.

But it was a tough afternoon for Albion under-18 defender Ben Clark-Eden, who came on as an 82nd minute substitute in a 4-0 home defeat for Bognor Regis Town against Potters Bar.
