The week ahead: Man City, Aston Villa and Bristol City

The October international break comes to an end this weekend, with Albion’s under-23s and men’s teams both playing on Saturday, while Hope Powell’s side turn their attention to the Continental League Cup on Sunday.

Albion return to Premier League action on Saturday.

Here are the three Albion games to look out for this week.

Saturday 19th October: Manchester City under-23s v Albion under-23s, kick-off 1pm

Albion’s under-23s return to league action on Saturday with a match away at Manchester City at the Academy Stadium.

Simon Rusk’s side head into the game after winning their last two matches, a 2-0 win away at Southend in the Trophy and a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex.

U21 highlights: Southend 0 Albion 2

The Seagulls head into the game sitting fifth in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table with nine points from seven games, while City lie bottom of the table with only one win from their opening seven games.

Tickets for the game are priced at £3 and are available to purchase at the Manchester City ticket website.

Saturday 19th October: Aston Villa v Albion, kick-off 3pm

Graham Potter’s men play their first match after the international break against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Albion head into the game on a high following a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last time out, thanks to Neal Maupay’s strike and Aaron Connolly’s brace.

Villa also go into the game on the back of an impressive result, after sweeping aside Norwich City in a 5-1 win at Carrow Road.

The club has now sold out its ticket allocation for this match.

Sunday 20th October: Albion women v Bristol City women, kick-off 2pm

Hope Powell’s team will play their second Continental League Cup group stages match when they host Bristol City at The People’s Pension Stadium on Sunday.

Women's goals: Charlton 0 Albion 3

Albion made a winning start in the competition following a 3-0 win away at Charlton Athletic in their first match, thanks to Ini Umotong’s header and two penalties from Kayleigh Green.

This is already the second meeting between the two sides this season after they played out a goalless draw on the opening day of the campaign at Ashton Gate.
