Neal Maupay wheels away after opening the scoring against Tottenham Hotspur.

He said, “It was all about believing in ourselves and trusting what we’ve been doing.

“We know we have a lot of quality in this team, but when it gets tough you need to keep working, and that was the message the head coach gave us this week.

“He told us that we’re a good side with a good plan and that we'd get a result if we kept believing in ourselves.”

Albion's players celebrate Aaron Connolly's second goal.

Aaron Connolly added two more goals on his first Premier League start after the opener, and Maupay spoke about their partnership.

“Aaron and I tried to stretch their defence, and that’s why I think we were chosen.

“We knew our pace could cause them problems – Aaron got his two goals and I got one too, but the team spirit was really good.

“It was a simple goal but they all count, it wasn’t a tough one, but you have to be in the right place at the right time.”

Albion are next in action when they face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday 19th October, and Maupay added, “There is lots to take forward and it’s great for the club.

“Now we need to rest and be ready after the international break, as it’s a long season and we know we have to keep working just as hard.

“We have lots of belief in our quality and we know we’ll continue to improve as the games go on.”
