Dunk was speaking after the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and is confident that the team will soon find their rhythm in front of goal.

He said, “No confidence has been lost, and you’re going to have those days where things don’t go right.

“In the games beforehand, we’ve been excellent and unlucky not to pick up more points. We have to keep putting in more of those performances.

“It’s been a struggle [scoring goals], but we’re still learning and adapting to the gaffer’s way of playing. We’ll keep learning as much as we can and keep improving. Hopefully the goals will come sooner rather than later."

The Albion captain also spoke about his desire to continue developing as a player, and says there is still a huge sense of belief that they can beat the Premier League’s top teams, with Tottenham Hotspur set to visit the Amex on Saturday lunchtime.

“I’ll always be learning until the day I retire. If I go out onto the pitch and think that I won’t learn anything, then I shouldn’t be doing it," he continued.

“It’s always a learning curve and there’s always room for improvement. You can never be good enough and you should always try to improve.

“We believe that we can beat sides like Tottenham. If we don’t, then there’s no point in us going out there.

“We’ll make sure we put in a performance to get us three points, and show the Premier League that we can beat these sides.”
