The 21-year-old, who was born to Colombian parents in London, has been selected by Carlos Queiroz as part of an initial 34-man squad for the international friendly matches on the 15th and 19th November, taking place in Miami and New Jersey respectively. However, there is still a possibility that the Albion man could represent the under-23s instead in Japan, dependant on the final decision of the national coaching staff.

Alzate made his Premier League debut for Albion back in a goalless draw with Newcastle United in September, earning the man of the match award in the process. Since then, the versatile midfielder has featured in four more Premier League contests - including both home victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

Other Premier League faces in the squad include Everton's Yerry Mina, Tottenham's Davinson Sanchez and AFC Bournemouth's Jefferson Lerma.
