He said, “It’s very frustrating – we played well, especially in the second half. We were the better team and we feel like we should have won the game.
“It was a good performance, we deserved the win but that’s football. If you don’t score a second, then you have to defend until the last whistle.
“It’s a really good strike from a long way out, it isn’t like it was poor defending, but it is hard to take.”

Neal Maupay’s first Premier League goal at the Amex had put Albion ahead after the restart, and Graham Potter’s men went on to dominate the second half. Gross explained there were plenty of good aspects to take from the contest with Sean Dyche’s men, pointing to the fine margins in the top-flight.
“We have to be positive, that’s important after this disappointing feeling. Once we come back into training next week we’ll be fully focused and looking forward.
“There were plenty of positives to take from the game, the only negative for us is the result, we can improve of course, and we’ll look to do that.
“There are always fine margins in this league, every player and every team has the quality to punish you, so you have to be ready and never switch off.”
