  • Albion win 4-2 away at Norwich City
  • Jack Leahy (2), Jack Spong and Marc Leonard on target
  • Tony Springett and Thomas Dickson-Peters score for Norwich
  • Mark Beard and Mikey Harris’s side are next in action against Chelsea on 14th September

Jack Leahy’s brace and a goal each from Jack Spong and Marc Leonard made it four wins from four games at the start of the U18 Premier League season, leaving the Seagulls top on goal difference ahead of Chelsea.

Albion broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute courtesy of Leonard, who played a neat one-two with Spong and saw his low driven shot clip in off the inside of the post.

Leahy scored his first and Albion's second of the game after Canaries keeper Joe Rose parried Stefan Vukoje’s original shot into the path of  the forward, who was quickest off the mark to tap in the loose ball.

Albion thought they had got a third goal shortly after the re-start when Leahy’s first-time volley from the edge of the area found Antef Tsoungui, but the latter's effort was ruled out for offside.

Norwich got a foothold in the game in the 55th minute through Josh Springett, who was played in by Josh Martin and he fired his effort into the bottom corner.

But it was 3-1 just ten minutes later thanks to Leahy’s second of the game, as the forward scored with a close-range finish following some lovely link-up play involving Spong and Leonard.

Leonard got his second and Albion’s fourth in the 73rd minute after the forward turned home Vukoje’s ball across the face of goal.

Norwich had the final word though and made it 4-2 with two minutes remaining when Thomas Dickson-Peters latched onto Eddie Jackson’s through ball.
