The Lewes-based signs company, which employs 200 people in the town and almost 50 people across Europe, have become an official sponsor of the club.

Albion’s head of commercial, Russell Wood, said, “We are delighted to confirm Hanover as one of our newest sponsors.

“They are significant employer in the local area, and have a brilliant reputation both here and overseas for providing excellent service to their clients.

“I am very much looking forward to working with Dave and the rest of the Hanover team over the coming season.”

Dave Williams, managing director of Hanover, added, “Premier League football has a global interest, so being able to show customers from around the world our production facilities and then enjoy a Premier League game, is a significant boost for us.

“We have a great team here and are fortunate to be in the position that the business has enjoyed continuous growth over the years.

“But we are not a consumer brand and the local community is not aware of the employment opportunities we offer.

“Our association with Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club will boost awareness of Hanover Displays both locally and globally, and in turn help with recruitment, as our business grows.”

With a heritage stretching back decades in East Sussex, Hanover was formed in Lewes in 1985 as a designer and manufacturer of passenger information equipment for the public transport industry.

Over the years it has enjoyed sustained growth to become a global business, with subsidiaries in continental Europe, the Middle East, North America and Australia, and partnering agents in other overseas territories throughout the world.
