Brighton & Hove Albion’s under-18s claimed back-to-back league victories with a 2-1 win away at Leicester City.

Ben Wilson’s penalty and Lorent Tolaj’s strike gave the Seagulls a hard-fought victory, to claim a sixth win of the season.

Leicester created the first chance when Will Russ teed up Terrel Pennant, whose effort from the edge of the area flew over the crossbar.

Pennant was involved in the thick of the action again when his shot was blocked by Tareiq Shihab, before Edward Elewa-Ikpakwu’s follow-up strike was comfortably saved by Roco Rees.

Albion worked their first opening when Cameron Tutt played Stefan Vukoje through on the left-hand side, but saw his shot saved by Oliver Bosworth.

The Seagulls took the lead six minutes after the re-start when Shihab’s cross was handled inside the area, and Wilson calmly sent the resulting spot-kick into the bottom right-hand corner.

Albion could’ve doubled their advantage from Jack Spong’s corner, which found Ben Clark-Eden, only for the latter’s header to be cleared off the line.

Mark Beard’s and Mikey Harris’s side got their second goal with 57 minutes played, as Tutt and Vukoje linked up well to play in Tolaj, whose shot deflected over Bosworth.

The Foxes got a consolation goal in the 78th minute when Johnson Gyami latched onto a cross from the left-hand side to make the final score 2-1.

ALBION: Rees; Shihab (Tanimowo 68), Cocoracchio, Clark-Eden, Tutt; Tolaj, Leonard (Jenks 26), Spong, Longman; Vukoje (Weaire 72); Wilson.
