Fixture Focus: Top Six Meetings

By James Hilsum • 13 June 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion took five points from the Premier League top six last season, with another memorable victory over Manchester United and two creditable draws against Arsenal, and the attention now turns to next series of 12 games against the division’s top clubs.

Albion ended the 2018/19 campaign with the visit of title-chasing Manchester City to the Amex, and Graham Potter’s side will head to the Etihad on 31st August for the first match against last season’s top six.

The Seagulls then make an early trip to Stamford Bridge for a match against Europa League champions Chelsea on 28th September, before hosting Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex seven days later on 5th October.

There is then just over a month’s wait before the next game against one of the top six, when Albion travel to Old Trafford on 9th November.

The month comes to a close with the first of two journeys to Merseyside on 30th November, as the Seagulls take on Liverpool at Anfield, before a game away at Arsenal on 3rd December.

A Boxing Day trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium follows on 26th December, ahead of a New Year’s Day clash with Chelsea at the Amex.

March features one game against last season’s top six when Arsenal make the journey south on 14th, before hosting Manchester United three weeks later on 4th April.

Two back-to-back home games against Liverpool and Manchester City then follow on 18th and 25th April respectively to conclude the club’s matches against last season’s top six sides.
