Fixture Focus: The Final Countdown

By James Hilsum • 15 June 2019

Brighton & Hove Albion play their final seven games of the season after the March international break, which includes home matches against Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solkskjaer’s side are set to visit the Amex on 4th April before Graham Potter’s men make the journey to Carrow Road for a game against Norwich City.

Potter’s side could then have a big say in the Premier League title race when Liverpool visit the Amex on 18th April, but the game could be moved if Albion progress to the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals, which also take place over that same weekend.

Manchester City will then be the penultimate visitors to the Amex on 25th April, which comes a week before a short journey along the south coast to Southampton on 2nd May.

That fixture was the scene of a memorable Albion comeback in 2018/19, after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s strike and a Danny Ings penalty were cancelled out by Glenn Murray’s brace.

The final opposition at the Amex in 2019/20 is set to be Newcastle United, a game which saw Albion take a big step towards Premier League safety after a Pascal Gross header secured a 1-1 draw in 2018/19.

Another season then draws to a close with a game at Turf Moor against Burnley, a venue where the Seagulls were edged out 1-0 after James Tarkowski’s close-range finish.
