Albion To Meet Premier League Cup Holders

By Kieran Cleeves • 29 March 2018

After Swansea City’s under-23s sealed a 4-2 victory over Bristol City in the Premier League Cup earlier today, Brighton & Hove Albion’s quarter-final opponents have been confirmed - the reigning champions of the competition.

Simon Rusk’s team will travel to Wales to play the Swans for a second successive year in the quarter-final of the Premier League Cup - following his team’s 3-0 win against Everton earlier this month.

The Seagulls were narrowly edged out 1-0 by the Welsh club at the Landore Training Centre towards the end of last season - and the Swans went on to win the competition, beating Reading 2-0 in the final.

Albion finished second in their group to reach the knockout stages this season, and goals from Jiri Skalak, Aaron Connolly and Viktor Gyokeres clinched a place in the final eight of the competition.

The tie is scheduled to be played between Friday 6th April and Monday 9th April. Confirmation of the date and venue will be confirmed in due course.
