Bruno Keen To Continue Turf Moor Record

By Kieran Cleeves • 27 April 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion captain Bruno hopes to continue his unbeaten record for the Seagulls at Turf Moor this weekend, when the 37-year-old comes up against a few familiar faces on Saturday afternoon.

Bruno could make his fourth appearance against the Clarets at Turf Moor, and the Spaniard commented on some of his previous visits to the Lancashire club - which includes a 3-1 victory in 2012.

He said, “The best memory is Craig Mackail-Smith’s goal [bicycle kick]. I put the cross in and it was a big win for us. Bobby [Zamora] also scored there and we have some good memories. I’d like to keep that record going.

“To see Ashley Barnes and Stephen Ward will be really nice because we shared a lot of good times together. They’re unbelievable guys and it will be nice to see them again.

“We have to be ready for every challenge, but we can’t afford to think any further than Saturday’s game.

“The Burnley game has to be viewed as a cup final, because every single point for us is going to be massive.”

Bruno also highlighted the unpredictable nature of different games, and urged his team-mates to play to their own strengths and show the desire needed to achieve a positive result against the Clarets.

“I’ve had a long career and every game is different - even if it’s a home game, no game is the same.

“Sometimes the fans can get more behind you than in other games, as we can be sharper and play better in some matches.

“Away games are the same. We know that if we keep possession and stick to our style of play, we can control the game and their fans will get onto their players.

“We don’t have to change anything. It’s about what you give on the pitch and what you want to achieve. Desire is the main thing.”
