Hughton Nominated For Manager Of The Year Award

By Kieran Cleeves • 05 May 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Year Award.

The 59-year-old has guided the Seagulls to safety in their first season in the Premier League, following last night’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at the Amex Stadium.

Albion currently find themselves in 11th position with two games of the season remaining, and Hughton will go up against five other managers for the prestigious award.

Rafael Benitez, Sean Dyche, Pep Guardiola, Roy Hodgson and Jurgen Klopp have also been nominated - with the award going to a new owner after Antonio Conte’s success last season.

A panel of experts, including Premier League legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Rio Ferdinand, will cast their selections - while a public vote will make up 10% of the vote.

The winner of the award will then be announced at the LMA Awards on Tuesday 15th May.
