A number of rule changes have been made ahead of next season’s Carabao Cup competition, following this summer’s EFL Summer Conference.
There will be no extra time played in matches finishing all square after 90 minutes - the games will instead go straight to a penalty shootout.
Penalties will revert back to the traditional format after the ABBA concept was trialled throughout the 2017/18 season.
Seeding will also be removed from the first two rounds of the Carabao Cup, however Round One will remain regionalised into North and South sections.
Finally, the EFL confirmed that VAR can be used in all Carabao Cup fixtures hosted at Premier League stadiums next season.
