Fixture Focus: Top-six Meetings

By Kieran Cleeves • 14 June 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion managed to take seven points from the Premier League’s top six last season, following victories over Manchester United and Arsenal, but when will Chris Hughton’s side meet the leading sides during the 2018/19 campaign?

The Seagulls secured their Premier League status against Manchester United in their final home game of the season last month, and Hughton’s men will open their Amex account against the Red Devils on Saturday 18th August.

Seven days later, Albion return to Anfield, where they finished their 2017/18 campaign, for a game against Jurgen Klopp’s 2018 Champions League finalists - Liverpool.

Back-to-back fixtures against two of the top six take place again in September, with Tottenham Hotspur visiting the Amex on Saturday 22nd, before Albion travel to Manchester City the following weekend on Saturday 29th.

October and November feature no games against the top six, however the Seagulls face another two games during December, with the visit of Chelsea coming on Saturday 15th December.

Arsenal travel south for a Boxing-Day fixture at the Amex, which is then followed by consecutive games against Liverpool at the Amex and Manchester United at Old Trafford, with the matches being played on Saturday 12th and Saturday 19th January respectively.

Just one top-six fixture is played in February, as Hughton’s side come up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday 23rd - however the Carabao Cup Final takes place on the same weekend.

Albion will then make their first visit to Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium on Saturday 6th April, before fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester City close the club’s second season in the Premier League.

Unai Emery’s team welcome the Seagulls to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 4th May, before Pep Guardiola’s reigning Premier League champions finish the season at the Amex on Sunday 12th May.

With the Seagulls welcoming four of the top six to the Amex before Christmas, Albion supporters are encouraged to purchase membership ahead of the 2018/19 season to give themselves a better chance of securing tickets.
