Under-23 Goalkeeper Joins Worthing

By James Hilsum • 30 July 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion under-23 goalkeeper Tom McGill has joined Worthing on a season-long loan deal.

McGill will link with the Rebels on a deal that runs until 28th April 2019, and will be extended if Worthing reach the Isthmian League Premier Division play-offs.

Under-23s coach Simon Rusk said, “This is a good move for Tom at this stage of his development.

“He has made good progress in recent years, having successfully made the step up to the under-23 age group and we’ll closely monitor him during this loan period.

“We wish him all the best for the season ahead.”

McGill was one of four players to move up to the under-23 squad this summer, along with Alex Cochrane, Aaron Connolly and Stefan Ljubicic.

The 18-year-old has also represented England up to under-17 level, where he has earned six caps.
