Brighton & Hove Albion are delighted to announce a groundbreaking new partnership with global investment platform eToro for the 2018/19 season.
As the world’s leading multi-asset company, eToro has been a leader in the global Fintech revolution, and provides an array of innovative trading and investment tools.
Their logo will appear on the club’s pitch-side LED boards and media backdrops, as well as other areas around the club and online.
While in a unique twist, the deal is believed to be the first-ever major sponsorship arrangement paid for in cryptocurrency.
Albion chief executive Paul Barber said, “We are pleased to welcome eToro as a major new partner for the new season ahead and we are really excited to be working with them.
“We are keen to be at the forefront of bringing new technologies and new ideas to football and together with eToro we will be looking at how we may be able to utilise their experience and expertise to help the club progress in various different fields.”
UK managing director at eToro Iqbal Gandham added, “We are excited to become a major new partner to Brighton & Hove Albion. We believe that we are making history by being the first company ever to pay for a Premier League partnership in bitcoin.
“While this is very much the first small step on a long road to football fully embracing blockchain technology, we are encouraged that Albion was so open to working with us."
With a global community of more than ten million registered users, eToro empowers users to invest in commodities, stocks and crypto-assets, and provides a bridge between the old world and the new.
