Albion And Aitc Nominated At Football Business Awards

By Richard Morris • 19 September 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion and Albion in the Community have been short-listed in a total of four different categories at the annual Football Business Awards.
The club and its official charity have been short-listed for two awards each and will find out whether or not they have been successful at a ceremony on Thursday 22nd November.
Brighton & Hove Albion have been short-listed in the Best Club Marketing Initiative category for its recent Albion Together kit launch, which featured players from AITC’s disability-specific national league sides alongside the club’s Premier League and FA Women’s Super League stars.
The club has also been short-listed in the Best Football Club Hospitality category.
AITC is one of half a dozen finalists in the Best Football Community Scheme – Premier League category and, should the charity win the award, it would be the fourth season in a row that AITC has won its relevant category at the prestigious football industry showcase.
AITC has also been short-listed alongside American Express in the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme category in recognition of the work the charity and Amex do together in the local community as part of Amex’s volunteer programme.
Matt Dorn, chief executive officer at AITC, was delighted with the news. He said, “Being short-listed at the Football Business Awards is testament to the passion and determination shown by our team at AITC, many of whom are working tirelessly in the local community every single day.
“As a charity we are also incredibly appreciative of the support we receive from American Express, so for that to be recognised in the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme category is fantastic.
“As chief executive of AITC I am also delighted to see the football club being recognised at the awards – particularly for the Albion Together kit launch. For players from our disability teams to have the chance to represent Brighton & Hove Albion on the pitch means the world to them, and for some of our players to then feature in the club’s kit launch and appear on the side of the stadium is amazing. It is a perfect illustration of the fantastic support we receive from the club on a daily basis.”
