Hughton: Glenn's Doing Fine

By Paul Camillin • 20 October 2018

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton this evening confirmed that Glenn Murray was taken for a precautionary scan at Newcastle Hospital, which crucially showed the striker’s injury isn’t serious.
Leading scorer Murray suffered a clash of heads with Newcastle’s Federico Fernandez early in the game. After a lengthy delay, he was carried off on a stretcher and taken straight to hospital.
Hughton said, “He was out cold. The good news is that he’s going to be discharged from hospital this evening and it’s nothing more than concussion.
“He’s going to be sore for a short while and this week we will do the appropriate things we need to do with him. We are just happy he’s okay.”
Murray was replaced by Jurgen Locadia to applause from both sets of suppporters after 16 minutes, on an afternoon when Albion won 1-0 at St James’s Park thanks to Beram Kayal’s first Premier League goal.
