Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Steven Alzate has signed a new three-year contract with the club until June 2021.
The 20-year-old is currently on a season-long loan with Swindon Town.
Under-23 coach Simon Rusk said, “Steven had an excellent first season with the club, helping the under-23s win promotion.
“This season he’s seized the opportunity he’s been given with Swindon, and is playing regular senior football.
“He’s worked hard and made good progress there, and it’s that hard work and progression which has earned him this new contract.”
Alzate joined Albion from Leyton Orient in 2017, having already made a dozen EFL appearances.
His form in the under-23s last season saw him called up to the first-team squad for Albion’s FA Cup tie at Middlesbrough.
This season he has made 12 starts, four substitute appearances and scored twice for Swindon in League Two, including an impressive goal in their 2-1 win over Notts County last weekend.
