Our women's under-19s take on Southampton for a place in the semi-finals of the PGA League Cup on Wednesday.
The team are hoping to build on their 11-0 win against Bexhill United in the Sussex Challenge Cup at the weekend.
Assistant head coach Tim Tapscott said, “It was great for players who have not been so involved to get more minutes against Bexhill United. It is really pleasing to have two wins in a row and now we look ahead to Southampton in the cup.
“Southampton are always a really good test for the team; it is a competitive fixture. The group have got a real hunger to win the game, and the PGA League Cup is a competition the team would like to progress in as far as we can.
“The main focus is always player development and making sure that whatever the outcome, we learn something from the game and that we always stick to our principles and philosophy of play.
“These competitions are brilliant because it tests us, sometimes we have to manage the game slightly different and adapt to different scenarios.”
Emilie Gay, Grace McEwen and Taylor Warren were all part of the squad in Albion’s FA Cup win on Sunday.
“The girls being around senior players is always brilliant for their development, and you can see that when they come back to our training sessions. They are driven, pushing themselves technically and mentally on the pitch.”
