Our women's under-19s return to action on Wednesday, hosting Bristol City in their first fixture of the second phase of the PGA League.
The squad have already faced the Robins twice this season, most recently in the PGA League Cup, where a 2-1 victory secured their place in the quarter-finals.
After finishing third in the first phase, assistant head coach Tim Tapscott shared his thoughts on the upcoming game and the team’s ambition to maintain momentum into the second half of the season.
“We are very much looking forward to phase two of the league. The team wants to get off to a positive start so we will approach the fixture with full focus.
“We have already played Bristol City twice this season and the team know the challenges they pose. It's about giving the girls ideas and solutions to scenarios that they may face, as well as going through what could have been better from us last time out.”
With several players away on international duty, the break has provided another opportunity for the WU19 squad to train alongside the senior team. Tapscott emphasised how valuable this exposure is for their development.
He continued, “It is always positive for the girls to be around first-team players in training. The energy and intensity they bring is brilliant for the team’s development. The quality and attention to detail in their play is great for the girls to see up close."
