Albion’s under-19s were beaten 2–0 by Welsh club Gwalia United in the quarter-finals of the FA Women’s National League Plate.
Gwalia scored a goal in each half to end our impressive run in the competition.
“We are disappointed as a group, however, credit to our opposition because they were the better team on the day," said head coach Dani Bowman,
“Gwalia played to their strengths and the team could not adapt to the challenge well enough. We were against a strong opposition who has a lot of experience.
“It is still a fantastic achievement to get to this stage of a tough competition. Every disappointment is an opportunity to learn and grow. We play Durham in the league in two days so we can dust ourselves down and go again.
“The team have had a busy period which will continue over the next few weeks, but this is great for the players. They get to experience a high demand of minutes which is a crucial part of their development.
“We will look to bounce back Wednesday with a strong performance."
