Albion WU19s lost 3-1 against Manchester City on Wednesday in Division One of the PGA League.
Dani Bowman’s side started positively and Libby Hester opened the scoring after 36 minutes but City responded seven minutes later with an equaliser.
The game remained level until the 71st minute when City scored two goals in nine minutes to complete their 3-1 win.
Head coach Dani Bowman said: “I am pleased with the work rate and attitude of the group; we were missing players so had a lot of under-16 players involved. It was great watching them compete against a good team.
“We knew Manchester City were a very physical and technical side, so we had to apply ourselves correctly which I think the girls did really well.
“Every game in this division is a great test and one we want to continue. Better opposition means better development for the girls.
“The team will be training on Friday ahead of a big game Sunday in the FAWNL League Plate quarter-final against Gwalia United.
“We need to assess the group post-game for any injuries, but will prepare like any other game."
