Mikey Harris has been appointed interim girls’ academy manager.

He has taken over the role on a temporary basis following the departure of Perry Northeast to Norwich City.

Mikey has previously worked within our boys’ academy setup, as well as having a spell in the second half of the 2023/24 season as interim women’s first team head coach.

He will head up the girls’ academy alongside his role as assistant coach for Norway Women.

He said, “I really enjoyed my time as interim women’s first team head coach in 2024 and I’m grateful for the opportunity to support the women’s and girls’ academy during this period to carry on the great work that Perry did.

“It was great to end my time with the men’s under-21s on a high, winning the Premier League 2 play-off final at the Amex.

“I’d like to thank Ian Buckman, Shannon Ruth and all the staff for their support during my time in the boys’ academy. I look forward to supporting the club during this period of transition alongside my work with the Norwegian Football Federation.”

Managing director of women’s and girls’ football Zoe Johnson said, “Mikey came in at a tough time to lead the women’s first team and that demonstrated not only his ability as a coach, but his passion for player development and the women’s game.

“We’re looking forward to having him on board and having him continue to develop the pathway we have in place for our young players.”

In addition, Nicola Cousins will take on the role of interim women’s under-19 head coach, with Dani Bowman due to to go on maternity leave soon. Dani will continue to fully support the women’s under-19 squad until her leave begins.
