Albion play their final game of the season at the Broadfield Stadium tonight (Wednesday) when Arsenal are the visitors in the WSL, kick off 7.45pm.
Team news
Dario Vidosic reported no new injury concerns after Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United and added that defender Maelys Mpome is back in training. “Tomorrow is probably a bit too soon for her, but she could potentially be available for the weekend,” said Vidosic.
The opposition
The two teams have met twice this season with one win apiece. At the Emirates in October Arsenal won 1-0 but Albion got revenge last month, winning 2-0 at Meadow Park thanks to goals from Mady Haley and Caitlin Hayes to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League on Saturday by Lyon in the semi-final but could still overhaul Manchester City at the top of the WSL if they win their four remaining games and City don’t win their final match.
Dario’s pre-match thoughts
Dario Vidosic says Albion's full focus is on Wednesday's game against Arsenal.
At his press conference ahead of the game Dario talked about his team’s good form, the importance of trying to beat the club’s record WSL points tally by taking four points from their last two games and balancing his playing resources with Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final in mind.
Stats and facts
• Albion have lost 14 of their 15 WSL games against Arsenal, though their sole victory did come in this fixture last season, winning 4-2 in their final home match of the campaign.
• Arsenal have won six of their seven away matches against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Women’s Super League (L1), keeping a clean sheet and scoring at least three times in each victory.
• Among fixtures to be played as often as this one (at least 15), Arsenal’s win rate of 93% against Brighton and Hove Albion (14/15) is the greatest one side boasts over another in the Women’s Super League.
• Arsenal’s 7-0 win against Leicester City last time out was their biggest in the league since May 2022 (7-0 vs Aston Villa); with 5-0 (vs West Ham) and 5-2 (vs Spurs) wins in the games prior, the Gunners could become the first team in WSL history to score five or more goals in four consecutive matches.
• Since the start of last season, only the “big four” clubs have won more points in home games in the Women’s Super League than Brighton (33), who could win five home matches for the second season in succession, having only done so in one of their first six WSL campaigns (2020-21).
• Arsenal are unbeaten in each of their last 13 WSL games (W10 D3) and could equal their longest unbeaten streak in a single Women’s Super League campaign, set in their invincible title winning season of 2012 (W10 D4).
• Arsenal recorded 16 shots on target in their recent win over Leicester City, only having more in one WSL game in their history (18 vs West Ham in September 2020); the Gunners have had 10+ shots on target in four different league matches this term, with only Manchester City doing so more often (5 before MD21).
• Kiko Seike has scored five home goals in the 2025-26 WSL, as many as she netted last term; the only Brighton players to surpass that total on home turf in a single Women’s Super League season are Inessa Kaagman in 2020-21 and Elisabeth Terland in 2023-24 (both 6).
• Arsenal’s Smilla Holmberg has six goal involvements across just three WSL starts (2 goals, 4 assists), the joint-most by any player after three starts in Women's Super League history (level with Rachel Williams (2011) and Caitlin Foord (2020)) - the Swede could also become the first player in the competition to score or assist in each of their first four starts, and the first teenager to do so in four consecutive starts overall in the WSL.
• Arsenal’s Stina Blackstenius is enjoying her best ever goalscoring season in the WSL with nine goals – the striker could net in three consecutive English top-flight appearances for only the second time, after a run in November 2023 which included goals against Leicester City and Brighton.
