Lia Walti was pleased with Albion's performance after they drew 1-1 with PSG at the Amex on Sunday.

The summer signing was one of 22 players used by Dario Vidosic as Albion continued their preparations for the start of the WSL season on 6 September.

She said, "PSG is always a team that is good in transitions, and we knew that from the start. They've been playing Champions League for multiple years, but I think we controlled the game pretty well.

"We kept the ball well, were patient playing into tight spaces, and created pretty good chances. It's a good starting point against one of the best teams in Europe."

The defensive midfielder expressed her happiness at returning to England and highlighted how quickly she has settled into the club.

She added, "It's been really good. I'm really happy to be here. The staff and players made me feel really welcome and made it easy for us new players to settle.

"Brighton is not a team that has to hide. In the last couple of years, they've been able to hurt the big teams in many moments, and they reached the FA Cup final last season as well.

"We're not going to be favourites in every single game, but that's a nice position to be in - you've got nothing to lose, but at the same time, we don't need to hide."

Walti spoke about Dario Vidosic's style of play that she is adapting to, emphasising that she is enjoying the process.

"Dario is a coach who gives a lot of detail on the pitch, so it definitely requires a lot of attention and a lot of adapting, but I'm enjoying it.

"He is a really fluid coach who wants us to change a lot of positions. It takes time to build those relationships because I don't know their strengths yet and they don't know my strengths yet, but it's on you as a player to adapt.

"We've got a really great midfield with loads of good players and different profiles. One role I will have for sure is bringing my experience into the team and helping players who need it, trying to improve their game."
