Head coach Dario Vidosic was pleased with Albion’s 1–1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in their pre-season friendly at the Amex on Sunday.

After the French side took a first-half lead, Maisie Symonds equalised with a brilliant free-kick on a day when Vidosic fielded a different XI in each half.

Reflecting on the match, he said: “To control the game the way we did against a Champions League calibre team, there were a lot of really positive signs.

“PSG put out arguably their strongest squad in that first 60 minutes, and we came in a little sore and fatigued from a tough week.

"For us it’s now just about finding ways to put the ball in the back of the net.

“We know the areas we still want to strengthen, including the forward line. Over the next few weeks, we'll see what we can do so we can really push to challenge those teams above us in the WSL this season."

Vidosic was particularly pleased with summer signing Lia Walti’s contribution to the match, as well as the experience and leadership she brings to the squad.

He continued: “Lia has been terrific from the moment she walked in. She’s one of the first people into the building every morning. Sometimes she even tries to beat me here.

“She’s brought so much calmness and leadership to the group already. She helped us control the game, broke up PSG's transitions, and she’s going to play a massive role for us this season both on and off the pitch.

"We always want our players to be flexible and understand different positions. Because of the fluidity in how we play, anyone can end up in a new role in key moments. Pre-season is the perfect time to give everyone those experiences, especially against top-tier opposition like PSG."
