Albion start their Women's Super League season with a new head coach and new signings and it looks like a fresh start all round.

For head coach Arturo Ruiz, stepping into the role just ahead of the season opener brings both momentum and the challenge of integrating quickly.

He said, "I’m absolutely delighted to be here I hope that we enjoy the whole season."

In his short week with the squad, the Spaniard has made it paramount that establishing a clear tactical setup and team culture is key.

Arturo outlined his philosophy is centred on adaptability and collective strength.

"First of all, it’s having a strong psychological identity. We want a dressing room that is very unique and has great synergies between all of us. About our football, I want to be very unpredictable and have plans adapted to each rival," he added.

"We want to be very aggressive - to press high when necessary, but also live comfortably in a medium block. With the ball, we want to be a dynamic team with a lot of resources and adaptability."

"Teams are built with time. We didn't have that, but I'm excited. We are going to be very competitive, compact, and aggressive. Obviously, we need to be patient and focus on high performance and the results will come."

Ahead of a formidable opening fixture against Arsenal, he added that confidence within the camp is 'strong'.

"The only thing that is important is how my players and my team are, and we are very good and confident with a lot of clarity," he said.
