Albion climbed into the Subway Players’ Cup play-off places following an emphatic 6-0 win at WSL2 side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
First-half goals from Caitlin Hayes and Olaug Tvedten were complemented by further strikes after the break from Emilie Joramo, Taylor Warren and sub Maelys Mpome, while Emily Murphy netted from the penalty spot as the Seagulls ran riot at the SEAH Stadium in Telford.
Arturo Ruiz’s side had come into the game in a buoyant mood following Saturday’s 3-0 WSL victory at home to West Ham United and the momentum continued as the Seagulls – having made eight changes – dominated proceedings from start to finish.

The breakthrough arrived in the fourth minute when Tvedten’s corner was met flush on the volley by Marisa Olislagers. The ball deflected into the path of Hayes whose close-range header looped over Wolves keeper Alex Brooks and into the back of the net.
Bex Rayner then saw a close-range effort well saved by Brooks and as the one-way traffic continued, Warren – making her first start – went close with two efforts in quick succession.

Hayes’ height and stature nearly paid dividends again on 34 minutes when she met a deep Murphy cross from the right, only to see what looked like a goalbound header come crashing back off the crossbar.
An excellent run from the lively Sophie Peskett resulted in a low cross to Joramo, whose first-time effort sailed narrowly past Brooks’ left-hand post – but despite the visitors’ dominance, Wolves looked set to go in at the break still very much in the game.
Their task, however, was made all the more difficult in first-half injury-time when Tvedten picked the ball up on the left and cut inside before letting fly from 25 yards with a superb effort that flew into the top corner of the net.
Albion started the second half at breakneck speed and made it three on 47 minutes when Warren's cross was met by the onrushing Peskett. Her first-time effort came back off the post but Joramo was on hand to drill home.

The fourth arrived just two minutes later when another Peskett run and cross was turned home by Warren as the wingers both continued to impress.
Albion netted their fifth on 65 minutes when Tvedten was brought down inside the box by Tammi George and Murphy stepped up to coolly slot home as Brooks dived the wrong way.
The super sixth came two minutes from time when a short corner was crossed into the box by Manuela Vanegas and Mpome – who also hit a post in the closing stages – rose to send a towering header into the back of the net.

With three wins from their past four games, and having netted 16 goals in the process, Albion will now be looking to extend their impressive goalscoring form with Crystal Palace the visitors to Broadfield Stadium on Sunday.
