Brighton & Hove Albion Women's players and staff believe plans for a purpose built women's stadium underline the club's belief, ambition and investment in the next generation of women's players.
Women's first-team head coach Dario Vidosic, who has overseen the team's progress in the Women's Super League and into the FA Cup semi-final this season, believes the project will have a significant impact on his work on the pitch.
He said, "To have a stadium designed specifically for the women's team is a significant moment for the game. It shows real intent and it tells players across the world that we are serious about high performance and long-term success.

"Environment is crucial for me every day and I have seen the impact of the club's multi-million-pound investment in state-of-the-art training facilities. When players feel valued in the spaces they train and compete in, standards rise. This creates the conditions to push the team forward and continue to compete at the highest level."
Captain Maisie Symonds sees the plans as a reflection of how far the women's programme at the club has progressed. "To be part of the development of our team in the WSL has been incredibly special and I am proud to be captain of the club. When I came to Brighton, it was about opportunity and potential. Now it's about ambition and belief.

"Knowing that future Brighton players will have a stadium built specifically for them is quite emotional. It shows that if you commit to this club, this club commits to you."
Fran Kirby, current Albion forward and former England international who played a key role in the Lionesses' rise on the international stage, believes the project sends a message far beyond Brighton and Hove.

"This is the kind of progress we have dreamed about for years. The thought of walking into a stadium that has been designed for you will be revolutionary - it will change the way women's players prepare and perform.
"It also shows that Brighton & Hove Albion have the utmost respect for the women's game and the people within it. For young players watching on, it makes them believe that this sport truly has a future where they belong."
