Dario Vidosic said it was ‘awesome’ that his men’s counterpart Fabian Hurzeler was at the Broadfield Stadium on Sunday to watch his team.

Hurzeler saw Albion beat Leicester City 1-0, with Arsenal at the Emirates on Friday night up next.

“I think everyone sees the coach, but he’s an unreal guy as well,” said Vidosic. “Early on in my time here I had a day off and asked if he minded if I came to men’s training. And when I saw him he said, ‘don’t ask, come whenever you want.'

“We train at similar times, but he will always stop and have a chat and come over to the women’s building at the training ground to say hello.

“He texted me before the game on Sunday wishing us all the best. So he's a fantastic coach and great human. Hopefully we entertained him on Sunday and that he comes back again.”

Albion have never beaten Arsenal in the WSL but go into Friday’s game four points above them in the table and Vidosic is confident his players will embrace the challenge.

“We'll see what we can do but I think it's got the makings of being a really good game," he added. "We hope a lot of our fans make the journey as well to give us their support but it's a game we shouldn't be scared of. We shouldn't worry about it.

“Arsenal are a very tough opponent and potentially it could be a full stadium or close to full. It’s a terrific game that we’ve got coming up and the girls should embrace it. It's a privilege to have that pressure.”
