Dario Vidosic was pleased with Albion women's second-half reaction despite falling to a 2-1 defeat at reigning WSL champions Chelsea tonight.
All three goals were scored in an end-to-end first-half but the Seagulls showed more composure after the break, limiting the hosts to just a handful of efforts at goal.
“At times it looked like we were waiting for someone else to find the solutions in the first half and at the break we spoke about that,” said the head coach. “The challenge was to be braver and we were much happier with the second-half performance.
“We controlled the game a lot more although we were a little bit rushed as we were chasing a bit more. But we started to find the way we wanted to play and maybe on another day we could have snatched something from the game.
“When you go 1-0 down, especially here against Chelsea, it can feel like the end of the world but it was a very good reaction from us.”
Chelsea's goals came as a result of left-wing crosses from Sandy Baltimore and Vidosic felt the goals could have been avoided.
“We could have done better on both,” he added. “We got the equaliser but then conceded from a similar position, a similar type of cross, and we didn't protect it enough. But overall, I'm quite proud of the players for their reaction in the second half. It's something to build on.”
Albion face Liverpool next on Sunday, who have three wins in their last five league matches.
“It's a big game against good team,” Dario added. “They did some big business in the winter window so we know it will be a tough, tough challenge.”
