Dario Vidosic felt his team showed a good level of dominance in their 2-2 friendly draw with Ajax on Friday afternoon.
Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike got the goals for Albion as Vidosic’s team played two lots of 30 minutes, before a final 45 minutes which saw a number of our under-19s get minutes.
“We were quite dominant for large parts,” the head coach reflected. “There was probably a period where we did get a little bit sloppy and I think that's probably down to a bit of fatigue in the players’ legs, which is also normal at this point of the season.
“But I think we created a lot. We were good in large parts, without the ball we were very solid. With the ball we're still in a new sort of way of playing, which we're still adapting to. But overall, there’s a lot of pleasing factors and stuff to work on.”
Albion’s first WSL fixture is just under a month away, with Dario happy with how his team are tactically starting to come together.
“We are starting to see it. I think they've embraced the idea from the start - they've been able to apply it quite well. We're still waiting on players, so the ones that have come in unfortunately haven’t been fit or they've been injured, so they're still recovering and rehabbing.
“For the girls that are in, training and playing the games, they've been excellent from the very first session.
“So it's not easy what I'm asking from them but they're giving absolutely everything and it's starting to come together. We know we've still got a little bit of time before the season starts and we'll get better and better each week.”

The under-19s have enjoyed run outs against Hammarby and Ajax during this pre-season, with the youngsters impressing the first team head coach.
“The last two games they've had a chance to play against Hammarby, who are a Champions League team, and Ajax as well. It’s excellent for them, for their development, for the exposure to see as well what's required at that level.
“I thought today they were really good. They created a few chances. They were maybe a little bit unlucky not to put away a couple, but it's pre-season. It's these opportunities for everyone, especially the young ones to show myself and the coaching staff their ability and to start knocking on the first team door.
“We're very pleased with them, they're helping us out to get through the minutes as well because we're a little bit thin. But over the two games, I think they should be very pleased with themselves.”
