Chris Roberts hopes Albion did Dario Vidosic ‘proud’ after Albion booked their place in the last 16 of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Dario has had to take a period of leave for family reasons and No.2 Roberts stepped up to lead the team to a 2-0 win and a place in the fifth round.
“It's been a really tough 24 hours so it was about being professional today on the pitch but being there for Dario off the pitch and hopefully we've done that,” said interim head coach Roberts after Madi Haley’s penalty and a late header by Jelena Cankovic saw off their WSL2 opponents.
“He's our leader, he’s our boss and the team is very much his and we want to continue the great work that he’s done and hopefully we did him proud today.”

As for the game itself, Roberts felt that Albion had control once Haley had opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time.
“I felt defensively we were top throughout. We limited them to very little chances. I think we've done a really clinical job with two good goals and ample opportunities to get more.
“It was a bit about being patient, but it’s also about the intensity and quickness with which you move the ball so you move their structure enough that you start to create your own gaps and your own spaces.
“But the girls have been so good this week, especially the last 24 hours, and I’m really proud of the way they performed and the way they worked to get us into the next round.”
