Dario Vidosic was delighted with his team's performance after Albion held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw in the WSL on Wednesday.
The point also meant Manchester City were crowned WSL champions.
The head coach, who made seven changes with Sunday's FA Cup semi-final in mind, said: "I'm very happy. We made a lot of changes and the girls stepped up.
"Some of them haven't had much game time in recent weeks but they all know their roles and what we want them to do with and without the ball and they did exactly that.
"They were all prepared both mentally and physically and they showed it, especially in the first half."
Fuka Tsunoda put Albion in front before Arsenal equalised after the break through Frida Maanum.
"We wanted to be aggressive and I thought we controlled the first half," added Vidosic.
"In the second half at times we had to dig deep and defend well but we were resolute."
