Dario Vidosic praised his team’s resilience after they reached the last eight of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup with a 2-1 win over West Ham United.
First-half goals from Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike gave Albion a 2-0 lead and although Leila Wandeler pulled a goal back in the second half the visitors dug deep in the closing stages to put themselves in Monday’s quarter-finals draw.
He said, “It is a tough place to come, it’s a smaller pitch than we’re used to and its condition wasn’t ideal and meant we had to shorten our passing distances.
“We were in decent control at 2-0 and at the start of the second half had possession in their half and then we conceded, but this time we stood up to the challenge and deserve to be in the next round. We had some players on limited minutes but everyone who came on played their part.

“The second goal was something we worked on and was probably one of the best we have scored this season. The players executed what was a beautiful goal and one we were really happy about.”
Vidosic was back in the dugout for the first time since returning to Australia following the passing of his father Rado.
“The fans gave me a nice reception when I got off the bus when we arrived and brought joy to me. They were terrific and helped us get through – it makes a massive difference.”
