Our men’s under-21s chalked up their first win of the season in Premier League 2 after beating West Bromwich Albion 4-0 on Saturday.
After a goalless first half Joshua Duffus made it three goals in two games with two in the space of five minutes.
Harry Howell and Marcus Ifill added further goals against a West Brom team reduced to ten men on 41 minutes when Muhamed Diomande picked up two yellow cards for fouls.
Duffus, on target in Tuesday’s Bristol Street Motors Trophy 2-2 draw with Crawley Town, beat Ben Cisse with a right-foot shot on 56 minutes before adding a second after good work by Ifill.
Howell made it 3-0 in the 64th minute with a close-range effort before Ifill got on the scoresheet for Albion’s fourth five minutes later.
Duffus had a couple of opportunities to complete his hat-trick with defender Ed Turns, Louis Flower and Caylan Vickers also going close.
Head coach Shannon Ruth said, “It was a really pleasing performance. The game started pretty even and it was hard to break them down. But after they had a man sent off we were really strong. We learned the lessons from the West Ham game last week when they went a man down and we struggled to break them down.
“Today we made the extra man count, moved the ball well and scored four really good goals while Josh is in a good run of form at the moment which is pleasing.
“We could have perhaps scored more but nonetheless we’re pleased with four goals and a clean sheet and the most pleasing thing is we learned from last week.”
