Avanti West Coast are advising fans going to Sunday’s game against Manchester United not to travel by train.
Because of strike action by the RMT union they are operating a much reduced timetable over a shorter window which will impact supporters.
The last direct Avanti West Coast service from Manchester to London is due to leave Piccadilly at 1555 and there is only one direct service from London that would get fans to the game in good time.
Whilst retail systems will suggest alternative journey options with other operators, the journey times will be significantly increased and there’s a risk fans could be directed to trains with fewer carriages and not being able to get on.
However you get there, travel safely and we look forward to seeing you at Old Trafford on Sunday.
